A partir del caso de Sophie quién presenta una “fobia escolar”, este articulo interroga las implicaciones metapsicológicas de un síntoma cuya evidencia nosográfica recubre la complejidad de las transformaciones durante la adolescencia. La articulación entre la neurosis actual y la neurosis de transferencia conduce a pensar lo escolar como un lugar de desplazamiento de los conflictos edípicos y de los efectos de la travesía púber. Las mediaciones terapéuticas aparecen como las condiciones para relanzar un trabajo de figuración, de transferencia y de subjetivación.
Using the case of Sophie, who exhibits a “school phobia”, this article will examine the metapsychological issues of a symptom whose nosographic evidence encompasses the complexity of adolescent reorganizations. The connections between actual neurosis and transference neurosis lead one to think of school as a locus for the displacement of Oedipal conflicts and the after-effects of the pubertary processes (pubertaire). Expressive arts therapies appear as essential for re-starting figuration, transference and subjectivation work.

Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly is a master class in the masochism and melancholy mobilized in the sacrificial behaviors that underlie confinement in adolescence. The authors show how, behind the figure of the naive and passive woman there is the active Madame Butterfly position that fights against separation. The lockdowns due to Covid-19 led to a sharp increase in hospitalizations of adolescents for severe anorexia. Though the clinical profile was typical, the investment of hospitalization and treatment was quite unusual. The investment of a space of one’s own enabled a resumption of boundary-work, restoring the differentiation between fantasy and reality, allowing a process of subjectal appropriation to resume, and putting at a distance the traumatic invasion and the oral regression provoked by the pandemic.
A parricidal passage to the act in adolescence necessitates a psychiatric and psychopathological evaluation. After-effects of the processing of the Oedipus complex in particular are brought into play in both the adolescent and the clinicians, in whom the therapeutic process can be hindered by fascination and control. The perverse aspect is present as a defensive organization to shore up the porous boundary between inside and outside, fantasy and reality.
Les confinements liés au Covid-19 ont entraîné une forte augmentation des hospitalisations pour anorexie sévère chez des adolescents. Si le tableau clinique était typique, l’investissement de l’hospitalisation et des soins était très inhabituel. L’investissement d’un espace à soi, a permis la reprise d’un travail de frontière entrainant la restauration de la différenciation réalité/fantasme, la reprise d’un processus d’appropriation subjectale et la mise à distance de l’effraction traumatique et la régression orale induites par la pandémie.
