The authors of this article study the implications of thinking of the psychoanalytical treatment as an adolescent process and investigate the link between this process, the political and the therapeutic arrangement. Their reflection is based on two clinical situations around the Id (in the Freudian sense), identification and the ideal are intertwined. The text first tries to show that adolescence is a relevant model for conceiving of the treatment. It then relates adolescence to the political showing that both share a certain kind of relationship with utopia, adolescence characterizing the potential flexibility between Id, identification and ideal. In conclusion, the case of Irma presents an investigation into the analyst’s place between the political, adolescence and treatment which, between repression and the demand for satisfaction, calls into question the edifice of the ideal.

BONNET GERARD : THE ADOLESCENT SUBJECT’S ENTRY INTO POLITICS. THE CRUCIAL ROLE OF IDEALS
How does an adolescent manage to go into politics in the strict sense of the word ? The love of ideals, which sometimes make such a noisy appearance at this time in one’s existence, is probably the most decisive factor in this. Still we must pinpoint the components of this love, and the different categories of ideals concerned, which Freud only sketched out in the second part of his work. Then one perceives that access to the political presupposes both adhesion to the most universal ideals and respect for the narcissistic, partial and social ideals imposed by existence. This is thus the source of permanent conflicts and the adolescent can only handle these within the group by entering into political discourse in the larger sense, and thus by appealing to those ideals by their name without getting taken in by their limits. It is in this way that he takes them upon himself and acts as a subject, a subject that is necessarily torn between often contradictory imperatives, but who takes the risk of speaking up for his own convictions.
GUTTON PHILIPPE : Words of seminary
The term political has been used for a long time for very different approaches to the issue of the other in adolescence : it is distinguished as the “ instituted other ” (family, teacher, companion) by its societal or institutional functions. From this confrontation, there emerges both the idea of opposition which is hard to oppose, and of anaclitic relation. It as if the function of the political helped to localize, to situate in the social space-time, desire as it presides over adolescent subjectivation. The political would be a statutory attribute of the parental subject in the transference within adolescence’s tertiary function. The latter defined, in Le pubertaire (Gutton, 1991) would be a singular message from the social situation in which the adolescent necessarily finds himself, and wishes once again to evolve.
SAUVAGNAT FRANÇOIS, BONNY PIERRE: A PARTICULAR CASE OF A « DARE » IN ADOLESCENCE : SOME ASPECTS OF RISK-TAKING INVOLVING HIV IN GAY ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS.
Interviews, first semi-directive, afterwards freeform, with subjects using gay dating sites have allowed us to pinpoint a certain number of particularities of types of unconscious dares, involving both their own fantasy life and their family history, concomitant with risk-taking that led to infection with the AIDS virus. These interviews also allowed some subjects who participated in them a better perception of their vital choices, and an opportunity to put into perspective the conclusions that partly determined their risk-taking.
TRIANDAFILLIDIS ALEXANDRA : STRATEGIES OF IMMORTALITY
The creation and cathexis of an image of one’s self-to-be seem unnecessary for both the adolescent and the adult in order to be (considered as) « normal ». In other words, what is traditionally called a « goal » plays a central part in one’s psychical life. This paper wishes to show that if the goal is always to be considered as a strategy towards immortality, its function is radically altered by the encounter between the adolescent and the « mortiferous » in death.
WINDELS MARIE : THE PRO-ANA BLOGGERS. INTERNET IDEOLOGISTS OF BEING THIN
A community of young women, known as the pro-ana bloggers, uses the Internet as a forum to exchange their methods of losing weight and to share details of their personal war against food. Their blogs stirred a wave of public sympathy which culminated, in April 2008, with the passing of a new law. We will see that the blogs, while certainly created with the goal of encouraging low weight, are written not so much from the point of view of the young women suffering from cachexia, but of the persons committed to anorexia/bulimia. Through their pro-ana blogging activity they are asking, firstly, for support to fight off the bulimic episodes, and, secondly, for recognition that they belong to a community.
VANDEVELDE BEATRICE :CORENTIN, OR A TALE OF THE FATHER FOR THE SAKE OF SURVIVAL
Based on the case of Corentin (14 years old) and its psychoanalytic analysis, the article illustrates the relevance of group therapy using theatre mediation. In spite of a longstanding psychotherapy in a Centre Médico-Psycho-Pédagogique (CMPP) (centre dedicated to children and youths aged 0 to 18 years old suffering difficulties in their development, sponsored by the French Ministry of Social Affairs), the therapists are preoccupied with Corentin and fear a psychotic crystallization of his personality. He feels persecuted by anyone, especially by his father, his therapy gets limited results and his social relationship with his peers worsen. To give a new impulsion to his therapy, he was offered group therapy using theatre mediation. Through the games of improvisations, Corentin tests identification to the father and commits his imaginary murder. Progressively, he discovers the symbolic dimension of this murder thanks to the organisation of the group and its elaboration capacity. This young teenager gets anew involved in his psychotherapy, goes back to reality and creates new social links with his peers.
LAUFER LAURIE :TEENAGE SUICIDE : EDOUARD LEVE, A SUICIDE’S ANATOMY
Suicide is an enigmatic act. It is performed outside the boundaries of common sense, it is a nonsense act. What makes a subject unable to escape the dead-end of the following alternative: « your money or your life » ? How can one go beyond the question of the impossible choice ? The being or the meaning? Edouard Levé has comitted suicide after having written a book named Suicide, which dealt with one of his youth friend’s suicide. Through his writing, he tries to clear the very mystery of one’s existence and of the dopplerganger’s which emerge like an imaginary echo. Would’nt that be, by the way, one of the questions raised by most suicides?
CONDAMIN CHRISTINE : ADOLESCENT MARTYRS AND MURDERERS IN THE LITERATURE OF MISHIMA YUKIO
The author relates the many adolescent martyrs and murderers in the work of the writer Mishima to his own life, leading to reflections on masochism and sadism as after-effects of early traumatic experiences. As long as Mishima managed to successfully sublimate through the accomplishment of a literary work, his masochism could be used as a « guardian of life » in an attempt to overcome trauma – afterwards (« après-coup ») – and unfold a hidden message. However, the writer seems to have been subsequently overwhelmed by the destructive potential of detached death impulses and carried away to his death by a mortified masochism without repairing his primordial narcissistic injuries and without curing the primary object deprivation.
LE BRETON DAVID :A TASTE FOR FAINTING : HANGING GAMES
Vertigo quest that can go to syncope is a usual teen activity under enjoyable activities such as elastic jumping, physical commitments. Or painful activities such as binge drinking, toxicomany… But we also find it under the form of asphyxia games where syncope is deliberately found. This article provides an anthropological analysis of this paradoxical quest.
